Manchester Airport runs two terminals, and most of its shops sit in Terminal 2. Terminal 3 serves Ryanair and has a smaller line-up. Here are the quick answers before the full lists.
Three shops never close.
| Shop | Terminal | Where | Hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| World Duty Free | Terminals 2 and 3 | Departure Lounge | 24 hours |
| M&S Simply Food | Terminal 2 | Arrivals Hall | 24 hours |
| Sainsbury's | Terminal 3 | Arrivals Hall | 24 hours |
The two food shops sit in the arrivals halls, so they suit people who have just landed rather than people waiting to board.
Hours can change, so the airport's own shop directory has the final word on the day you fly.
Manchester Airport has changed shape. The airport now runs a two-terminal layout that began on 5 March 2026. Which terminal you use decides which shops you can reach.
Always check your airline or booking confirmation before you travel. If you end up in the wrong terminal, the Skylink walkway links the two and takes about 10 to 15 minutes on foot.
Manchester 24/7 Transfers serves both terminals, so add your terminal and flight number when you book.
Terminal 2 is the main shopping terminal, and most brands sit in the Departure Lounge after security. A few, including M&S Simply Food, sit in the Arrivals Hall for people who have just landed. The tables below group them by what you are likely to buy.

World Duty Free's Terminal 2 store is a walkthrough design covering about 1,980 square metres, so it sits on the route to the gates.
Most Terminal 2 shops open at 03:00 or 03:30, so a very early flight still has plenty open once you clear security.
Terminal 3 is the smaller terminal and serves Ryanair flights. Its shops cover the basics well, and their hours change from day to day more than Terminal 2's do.

WHSmith also runs a kiosk in Terminal 3, so check the airport page for its hours. The airport lists Boots in Terminal 2 only, so pack any pharmacy items before you head to Terminal 3.
Early flights are common at Manchester, and the shops mostly keep pace. Here is what is open when the rest of the airport is quiet.
Staying nearby the night before an early flight? The hotels near Manchester Airport page lists options, and a pre-booked transfer runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Both arrivals halls have their own shops, which helps if you need milk, a charger, or travel money before the journey home. What you find depends on your terminal.
With Welcome, your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a personalised name board, usually in place around 40 minutes after landing to allow for immigration and baggage reclaim. In Terminal 2, the meeting point is the currency exchange. In Terminal 3 it is the Information Desk.
Welcome also includes extended waiting time, so a quick stop at M&S or Sainsbury's will not rush you.
Essential has no terminal meeting point or name board. You walk out to a designated pickup zone instead. In Terminal 2, that is Car Park P3 or the T2 West multi-storey car park, where the 15-minute wait bay fee of £6.60 is included in your price. In Terminal 3, it is just outside the arrivals door.
Heading back to Leeds? The Leeds to Manchester Airport taxi page covers that route, and there are pages for Sheffield and Wakefield too.
A little planning turns a rushed dash into an easy browse. These offers and rules are worth knowing before you reach the shops.
You can reserve online from 30 days up to 24 hours before you travel, then pay in store. The airport lists 10% off with Reserve & Collect, and terms apply.
All airlines flying from Manchester allow you to take one bag of airport shopping on board along with your hand luggage. That helps when your purchases will not fit in your hand luggage.
Boots Click & Collect needs an order at least three days before you travel. Sainsbury's in Terminal 3 handles Argos and Habitat collections.
Airport purchases can be returned to a high street store, and World Duty Free purchases can be returned within 60 days of purchase.
Whether you fly from Terminal 2 or Terminal 3, your transfer price is fixed when you book, and flight tracking is included. Essential is the cost-effective choice, and Welcome adds full assistance.
Every route is listed on the transfer routes page.
Ready to book or want a price first? Request your fixed-price quote and pick Essential or Welcome once you see both.
